 Ingredients:

  • 500 dry green beans, removed peels
  • 50 g green tea powder (matcha)
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 100 g sugar

Tools:

  • Steam cooker
  • Cake mold
  • Cake mixing spoon

Directions:

Step 1: Soak the dry green beans in cold water for at least 4 hours, drain thoroughly.

Step 2: Pour the beans into the steam cooker and cook for 20 minutes until it’s well-cooked.

Step 3: Pour the steamed beans into a large bowl, grind the beans into a smooth thick paste with a cake mixing spoon.

Step 4: Pour the beans into a pot, add vegetable oil and mix well.

Step 5: Add matcha powder and sugar and mix well.

Step 6: Divide the paste into smaller parts and gently roll between your hands to form balls.

Step 7: Cover up a little vegetable oil on each ball.

Step 8: Place each ball in a cake mold, gently press

Tips:

  • To have firm green tea cakes, mix the paste well until smooth and remember to add vegetable oil.
  • Green tea cake is not too sweet, but a little dry. So, you can enjoy it with a cup of green tea. 
  • Besides the ingredient dry green beans, you can replace it with rice flour.
